About us

The Ideal English School only employs fully qualified teachers of the highest calibre from all over the world.

The Ideal English School opened in 1993 to meet the need for an educational facility which would provide a broad and balanced curriculum based on the English National Curriculum and also offer an Arabic Language and Islamic Studies programme as authorized by the Supreme Education Council. The school is housed in modern purpose built facilities of a coeducational programme up until Year Five and a segregated programme from Year Six onwards.

From a small beginning in two villas, the school has rapidly developed and now occupies two large modern purpose built premises with all facilities available to educate students to a high standard.

The Ideal English School only employs fully qualified teachers of the highest calibre from all over the world. All teachers are fluent and competent English speakers who are experts in their particular field of knowledge and skills. Teachers bring a wide breadth of experience and pedagogical practice and many hold masters degrees or equivalent.

The Ideal English School aims to develop in each student an awareness of his or her intellectual, artistic and recreational potential and an understanding of his or her history. The school believes in the development of each student's intellectual curiosity and is committed to academic excellence. To fulfill these aims, the objectives of the school are:

  • Promote academic, social, physical and personal development in our students.
  • Develop our students' learning skills which will be of lifelong value.
  • Encourage positive risk taking in our students.
  • Develop creative skills and critical awareness in our students.
  • Encourage our students to become aware of and act upon their responsibilities, not only to themselves and their peers, but also to society in general.
  • Foster within our students a healthy sense of self-esteem and self-awareness and encourage respect and compassion for others.
  • Create programs, assessments and experiences that serve to unite the school and celebrate the distinctiveness of each campus community.

The Ideal English School Alumni will allow past graduates to communicate, network and stay in touch with old classmates as well as inspiring the current generation of Ideal English School students. The Friends of IES Association will allow parents to have more input and guidance to what is happening at IES and help build a stronger IES community.
